Athlectics day

Last week, was athletics day. For athletics we did fun activities to go against each team in our year or class group. We were each in different colour groups. The colour group were green, blue, red and yellow. I was in red. The activities spoon race, rob the nest, rock paper scissors, long jump, discus, shot put, Frisbee, the egg race bean bag race and the sponge game.  After we did the activities we did sprints to see who came 1st, 2nd and 3rd. We could wear mufti in our team colour or anything else.

Montagues and Capulets

For this task this week we were learning about William Shakespeare and his books
We all did Romeo and Juliet. We got a choice to do what scene we wanted our group decided to do the fight between Montague's and Capulet's. We thought of what they might have done to add something cool we did a little animation of the Montague's and Capulet's.

Pair of shoes

As I glared at the new shoe box my owner opened, I was devastated to find better and shiner improved shoes in front of my old owners eyes I could see the joy in his face as he got his new shoes. As I could feel him pick me up and looked disappointed as he threw me in the bin I felt sad and I could smell and feel old cans of food, diapers and left overs for a matter of fact, I felt like a left over. It was very dark in here. I thought I would never get replaced but I guess my biggest fear came true. 

Today for writing we got a task to think about how it would be to be a shoe. We used all five of our sentences like we used what they would feel and see like human abilities personification. This task was very fun but the most challenging thing was we had to face back to back with out any talking to each other and we had to use our chrome books to communicate. This was a very fun task to do.

Reading presentation

For the last past weeks we have been learning about the great plague of London. We each made a slide to present what we have been learning and what happened.The great plague happened by just one little rat that had jumped of a boat. It started way back in 1665 but luckily ended in 1666 because of the big fire London so it killed rats and fleas. The rich people like the queen and king got to move out because they could afford it while the poor stayed and more of the Town got more infected by this disease. They painted a red plus or cross looking figure on the door so that people know the plague was inside. Once one of your family members were infected you had to stay with them.

Transnformation

Today were learning about the vocabulary of transformation. Transformation is geometry that describes the changes made when you rotate, translation, reflection and enlargement.We made a DLO to help us understand what transformation looked like.

Phonics

Today for phonics we each chose a vowel then chose our chunk using our vowel. My vowel was A, and the chunk was Ack. I made my list of words with Ack in them. Then I used the dictionary to find more words. After that I made a sentence using my words. To make our paragraph we chose a word from each persons list and together. The sentence was i enjoy watching Jack and Mickey drive an ambulance car while eating popocorn.

Spring into math

Today we got another task with Mrs Linda and my group with Joel, Anglene, Ellanora, Jonathan, Neveah and Miiana and I we were given a task to roll a dice and find out the number and write our knowledge or working out.

Food print

Yesterday we had a visiter named Michal she came to our school to talk about her business. She talked about how she wanted to always start her own company and how she did not want to waste food. So then she came up with an idea to have a business about saving food. She gave facts like Overproduction means 1/3 of food produced is wasted every year 1.3 billion tonnes of food - landfill equals decays and produces methane gas which contributes to climate change. Food print is a app that u can download it gives u food cheaper and nice heathy and fresh foods. Did you know 20 million loaves of bread in NZ a year is wasted natural resoursess and labour and money.Foodprint is a social enterprise to help people, business and the planet - is about the carbon footprint of food.

Should we ban or keep fireworks

Today Miiana and Provocation DLO of whether we should or shouldn't ban fireworks. On our DLO you can see that we put 2 different point of veiws then our opinion.In oth of our opinion we think no we should not.

Firework safety

This week since it was Guy Fawkes, we created a DLO about fireworks safety to show the room 2 and room 4. For this DLO, I worked with Miiana, Taheesha and Eyaka. With the fireworks safety, we included 5 simple important  firework safety rules with some photos. After creating the DLO, we showed it to room 2 and room 4. One of the important rules while near fireworks, is to always keep away while a firework is lit. 

Guy Fawkes

This week for being near to Guy Fawkes day we decided to make a DLO on Guy fawkes and how he became who he once was most of us now celebrate Guy fawkes. we did many facts and knowledge on this progect about him. Like how he was plotting to kill the king. This activity was fun.
