At tech our year 8 students made sushi. we first prepared our chicken and added mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce and salt then we mashed up our rice with a spatula so it was not all clumped together. When using the rice you have to dip your hands into some water so when you use the rice it's not sticking on your hands. Next, we proceeded to add our ingredients onto our nori sheets which is the outside for our sushi we spread out the rice so it would fold up nicely. we hand-rolled up our sushi with a bamboo mat. After we rolled it up you add water to the end of the sushi so it can stay stuck on and not fall apart. The end result was either a failure or a success for a first try. At the end we all got to try our sushi with some soy sauce and sit down in the kitchen.
I am a Year 8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teacher is Mrs Anderson.

Tech Reflection | Pewter Casting
This week for tech at Tamaki College, we carried on with our designs for our 4 recipients. We chose one design we wanted to create for a recipient we also had to make sure there were no skinny thin parts. So our group decided to choose a Mickey mouse design that wasn't that hard. When we had chosen our designs Mr. Grundy would print it out, so we could make our design. He also explained the first step of how to carve out our designs so for next week we are ready.

Tech|Tamaki College Reflection
This week Friday the year 8’s started their first session of tech at Tamaki College. This term we are working with pewter in Mr. Grundy’s class. On our first day we looked at a few examples of some of the things we might be creating, and Mr. Grundy also showed us the process of how it is created. Then we started making up some of our own ideas for the pewter.

Robotics
Today at tech we were learning how to code a circle shape and our initial shape so for example I did T because that is my letter of my first name. To make the code we take our own Mbot and plug our wire into our devise and the Mbot and we try to figure out the coding for both of our tasked for the day. After we think we have done our coding correctly we test it out on the table. First I did my circle it did not turn out on the first try so I asked my friend and she helped me. Then we take a screen shot of our work and we put it on our google slide work.
