Group Point of veiw about plasic straws

This week In Writing Haylee, Joel and I have been learning about plastic straws and why they shouldn't or should be ban from New Zealand fast-food restaurants. In This Task, we created a collaborative DLO persuading our opinions and Provocation( An action or motion to make someone angry or emotive about a specific issue. Our first task was to look at 5 websites that talk about why we as New Zealanders should prevent plastic straws from causing destruction to our marine life + our wildlife.

Our first perspective is that plastic straws should be banned from all facilities because they are just as harmful as other plastic objects that are provided in supermarkets and in fast food takeaways. In our next opinion, we give our point of view about why we shouldn't ban the (Because what's the point of buying straws if thoroughgoing to use them anymore that's just a waste of time. 

Persuasive Speech

Hello my name is Taheesha and I'm going to be explaining why all kids should stay in school and why education is important. Would you like it if someone you know or in the future, your child, dropped out of high school or any stage of school really I know I would hate that I would go crazy if he/she would even think about it.

Do you know every year, over 1.2 million students drop out of high school in the United States alone That's a student every 26 seconds or 7,000 a day! In NewZealand, 83.5% of students left school just in 2018 at the age of 17 WOW I did not expect that. I think that the main reason I think school is really important is that education gives us knowledge and it helps us build opinions and have points of view on things in life.

People debate over the subject of whether education is the only thing that gives knowledge. If you were to drop out let's say u were at the shop and u did not go to school or did not pay much attention to it u had 24 dollars in coins and u want something about 15 dollars you would be standing there counting your money while most people around are knowing how much money they have or need. school might be hard or challenging but to some school is fab, fun and informative.

Education gives you knowledge about Science, Technology Art and Mathematics basically any topic your school teaches.The consequences of dropping out of high school are that you will be more likely to not get a job because you will not have a lot of knowledge for a job or career. Remember knowledge is the gateway to the future

This week the class and I have been doing a leaning game called  Hour of Code there are many different options to explore on code. But our class has been focusing on the Minecraft topic which is were people/players can learn basic programming and how to use code. This app is very cool it can help you have that knowledge about different sorts of topics in coding. On the Minecraft game there are exact 12 levels I had to complete it started out easy but then got more challenging going towards the end. How we had to figure out the different types of coding like Moving forward, turn left, turn right repeat and we have to make our character go different directions to get where they need to be.

Maori Myths

This week Haylee and I were summarising a story about a Maori creation. In this task, we had to watch a video of the Maori creation story. The māori creation story of the world is formed by the separation of Ranginui, the Sky Father, and Papatuanuku, the Earth Mother, by their children. When watching the video we had to find important signs in the video and put some words in the summary and chose the main six. Then we have to put it into a small sentence. This activity was fun.

Literary Devices

In reading we are learning about poetry our task was to focus on Literary devices. Our challenge was to create a DLO using google docs. In this Task I worked collaboratively with Sandra as a pair we were focusing on the 6 main literary devices. The 6 main important words were Onomatopoeia, Metaphor, Simile,Personification, Alliteration and Hyperbole. On each of these key word literary devices Me and Sandra defined each of the words using only the explore tool on google docs. It was difficult challenge as we were only allowed to use the explore tools on google docs. The pictures help describe the definition of these 6 literary devices.
