Activity 3: Dear Jacinda

For this last day 1 Summer Learning Journey activity for week 2, we wrote a letter to Jacinda talking about an important issue/problem in New Zealand. It could be anything so I decided to go with homeless people. Above there is an explanation of what I think towards this.

  1. Hey Taheesha!
I have read your blog post and it is amazing. I like the Issue you chose. I chose a different one but I can relate to it as well. I chose teacher pay.
    Keep it up!

  2. Kia ora Taheesha,

What an incredible topic to express to Jacinda Ardern. I think it is so easy to forget how privileged we are to have food and drink and a roof over our heads that we don’t realise that there are people in our country that would do anything for just one of those things. I think all of your ideas are amazing and quite fair if you ask me because for whatever reason our homeless people have for being homeless isn’t as important as making sure that they are safe, warm and fed. How do you think you can personally help the cause in support of homeless people? I also appreciate that you have attributed the image that you included in your letter.

Ka pai Taheesha, keep up the mahi and you will finish the SLJ in no time! :)

  3. Hi Taheesha,
I found it interesting that you think homeless people need to be given food and clothing, there are shelters and kitchens that provide those exact things. Would you join a shelter to help those people out?
